Some tips on Folding treadmills
There are currently 2 types of fold up treadmills in the market
1) Power folding or shock assisted
The power folding simply folds the treadmills with a touch of a button. It reduces folding difficulty to the minimum. Of cos this treadmill would be more pricy then the the rest as the price that you pay would be the value that you get.

2) The Manual folding
Requires considerable effort in folding. This involves bending and lifting the treadmill yourself. Unless the treadmill is light and you are relatively strong and you don’t mind doing the entire bend the lift regime after every workout I would not recommend having a manual folding treadmill.
A folding treadmill is not necessarily better then a non-fold up treadmill. A non-fold up treadmill usually offers higher stability and in terms of stability, a non-fold up treadmill usually comes out tops of the chart. Thus for heavy users and frequent runners, a non folding treadmill is recommended.
If you are getting a treadmill for an elderly or someone with relatively lesser arm strength it is important to consider the right folding mechanism.
